OverviewThe Team: The Contract Services Team provides a coordinated approach to Government contracting and procurement activities. Our focus is to provide practical advice and simple solutions when buying for Government and to assist staff in the procurement process. Our scope includes procurement activities related to building and construction projects under the Department''s Capital Infrastructure Program to the Infrastructure Services Group, maintenance procurements under the Public Building Maintenance Fund, CIP-EM and Facilities and Engineering funding.The RoleThe Senior Contracts Officer will support high level procurements and business activities involving tenders/contracts undertaken by the Section to assist with the delivery of the Department of Health (DoH) infrastructure program. The Senior Contracts Officer will work collaboratively with other team members under the broad direction of the Manager Contract Services.The occupant will:Exercise initiative, discretion and judgment within the field of expertise.Maintain the highest standard of quality, accuracy and timeliness of advice and ensure the effective and efficient use of resources to deliver agreed priorities.Maintain a professional, consistent and client-focused approach to stakeholder engagement in all interactions.Champion a child safe culture that upholds the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. The relevant Unit Manager can provide details to the occupant of delegations applicable to this position.Comply at all times with policy and protocol requirements, including those relating to mandatory education, training and assessment.You will needSignificant expertise and in-depth experience in procurement and contracting matters with the proven ability to provide authoritative advice in this field, develop tender and contract documents, and interpret and apply procurement and contracting policies.Demonstrated high level communication skills, including the ability to produce and present accurate, clear and compelling communications; together with the ability to critically and methodically review outputs drafted by others, with a high degree of attention to detail.Demonstrated high level interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to successfully influence and negotiate outcomes, resolve conflicts, and build effective relationships and networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated capacity to apply high level research, analytical and problem-solving skills to procurement and contracting matters, to provide high level advice, solve problems, identify solutions and formulate clear and convincing advice and recommendations.Demonstrated commitment to working in a values-based organisation demonstrated by an alignment with the purpose, culture and values of a workplace, and to upholding shared values through appropriate workplace behaviour.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why TasmaniaThe Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Tasmania offers natural beauty and a lifestyle that supports a healthy worklife balance.Details of appointmentFixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 December 2028.Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Position FeaturesMay be required to work outside normal business hours.Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum.
