Be part of the department that works to protect support and develop NSW primary industries mining sector and regional communities.Permanent ongoing opportunityFull-timerole at38hoursperweekLocated within the Central Tableland LLS region (Mudgee Lithgow Bathurst Orange Cowra or Molong)Salary ranges from $113574.00 - $125720.00 pa super & leave loadingCentral Tablelands Local Land Services is looking for a Travelling Stock Reserves Coordinator (SLSO) to assist the Invasive Species team with project management and the delivery of on-ground programs and advisory services for the management of animal biosecurity for the region and for surveillance and investigation activities as they relate to pest animal management.The successful candidate will have excellent project management and communication / negotiation skills and will report to the Manager Biosecurity and Emergency ServicesAbout the RoleMain responsibilitiesLead the Central Tablelands LLS in TSR management being responsible for project management contract development and budget oversight including phasing and project reportingCollaborate with internal teams to coordinate and deliver relevant activitiesAssessment and issuing of grazing permitsManagement of maintenance / establishment of infrastructureCoordination of pest animal and weed controlLiaising with other government agencies regarding use of TSRsManaging and reporting on a budget to coordinate and oversee the planning and delivery of procurement and service delivery.Records managementOversee monitoring and compliance interpreting legislative instruments to guide decisionsRespond to Ministerial requests for information / responses to stakeholder correspondenceKey challengesCollaborating with stakeholders to apply legislation and policies across diverse parcels of landBalancing complex and fast-moving responsibilities where urgent issues may take priorityWorking in a highly visible space amidst evolving industry and community expectationsAbout YouThis is a role for someone who loves project management working with people and being out in the field.To be successfulA sound knowledge of travelling stock reserve management and compliance as it relates to the relevant legislationAn understanding of biosecurity issues particularly as it relates to pest animal and plant managementThe ability to make decisions in challenging scenarios managing industry and community expectations whilst operating in accordance with legislationA Certificate IV in Government Investigations or the ability and willingness to successfully complete itThe ability to be appointed as an Authorised Officer under the LLS Act and the Biosecurity Actand the demonstrated ability to understand interpret and apply legislation and regulations.Essential RequirementsA degree in agricultural environmental natural resource management biosecurity and emergency management and / or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experienceA current NSW Class C Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel (including overnight stays) as requiredAbility and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearanceFor more information read the full Role Description : Travelling Stock Reserves Coordinator (SLSO)Who We AreThe Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is the department dedicated to growing primary industries and supporting regional economic development to deliver long term benefits to the state.
