Destination Phillip Island Regional TourismFixed Term - 9 months - 20 hours per weekDigital Content and Social Media OfficerAbout usDestination Phillip Island Regional Tourism Board is based in Cowes, Phillip Island.We are the peak Regional Tourism Organisation for the Phillip Island region, as defined from time to time in tourism industry strategic plans developed by the State, focusing on the development and growth of the tourism industry in the region, strategic tourism development and advocacy for the region. We support the delivery of; industry development, product development, regional marketing, strong advocacy and united voice for the region, effective coordination and communication, skills training, leadership and mentoring, networking, identifying investment/infrastructure opportunities, and managing tourism sustainability.We have small passionate team of 1 full time and 2 part time employees.About the roleThis role supports Destination Phillip Island to deliver engaging digital content that inspires travel and supports local tourism businesses part of our local tourism partnership. The Digital Content and Social Media Officer creates destination stories and partner program deliverables across social, web and digital channels.Working closely with the DPI team and local industry partners, this role helps bring the region to life through clear, warm and authentic content that connects with visitors and supports tourism outcomes.Key responsibilitiesDestination contentProduce both short-form high-engagement content for social media and long-form content for websites, blogs, eDMs and digital campaignsPost 3-4 times a week on Instagram and Facebook accountsSupport seasonal campaigns, events and key travel periods with strong storytellingAdapt content for different platforms while keeping a consistent brand voiceDevelop digital content for industry partners as part of the Phillip Island and San Remo Partnership programWrite partner features, listings, profiles and promotional copy as per the deliverables in the partnership programLiaise with partners to gather information and ensure content is accurate and on brandDeliver agreed content outcomes within timelinesSocial media managementManage day-to-day social media posting, sharing UGC and supporting community engagement by responding to comments and messages to strengthen brand reputationAssist with content calendars and campaign planning including influencer/content creators and paid social media advertisingMonitor performance and provide simple reporting and insights per a reporting templateContent coordinationSource images and short video content from partners, photographers and media librariesWork with the wider team to align content with marketing priorities and brand guidelinesSkills and experience2-3 years'' experience in a social media/digital content roleExperience in Canva, video editing apps and editing video for social channelsStrong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiencesExperience writing for social media and digital platformsGood understanding of tourism, travel or place-based marketingStrong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple deadlinesConfidence working with industry partners and stakeholdersExperience in paid social media advertisingAbility to capture simple social content on location in the regionExperience working in tourism, events or destination marketingFamiliarity with content scheduling tools and basic analyticsStaying up to date on algorithm changes, best practice and new social media toolsWhat we are looking forA natural storyteller with a love of place and peopleSomeone who writes clearly, warmly and with purposeA team player who is comfortable working independentlyDetail-focused, reliable and comfortable working to timelinesPart-time role with flexible daysIn person day in Cowes/Phillip Island minimum 1 day a weekHybrid working options available, including time in the regionOccasional out-of-hours work during events or campaignsWhy work with usHelp shape how visitors experience and connect with the regionWork closely with passionate local tourism operatorsBe part of a small, supportive and creative teamGain hands-on experience across destination marketing and partnershipsApplications Close:Wednesday 11 February 2026 for qualified applicants we will request a CV and brief application letter #J-18808-Ljbffr
