Qualification and/or life experience enabling the ability to collaboratively contribute to the work of a specialist Autism service. Applicants must have lived experience as a carer of an autistic person, accessing supports.Different Journeys considers that being a carer is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) ss12 and 26.2. Willingness to share your knowledge and experience.ResponsibilitiesDeliver peer support in your local area, including working with partners, and supporting our events and activities.Used your lived experience to be a mentor, helping others feel safe and engaged at our events, and generally .Provide peer support, including online and in person programs, one to one or group supports for different and mixed age / gender / other groups.Represent Different Journeys in your community.Research and organise referral service information, ensuring useful tools are available to our community members as required.Maintain confidentiality, respect and a commitment to our Values and Vision at all times.Observe and participate in our risk management and Occupational Health & Safety strategies for preventing and responding to perceived and actual risks in the planning and delivery of events. You''ll also need to be aware of the legislative, regulatory, policy and funding matters that apply to peer support, and monitor your own compliance.Provide reporting and other information as directed.This role has been assessed Level 3 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (MA000100).The position is subject to receipt of external funding, and completion of a national police check and Working with Children check.
