The Role:On behalf of our clients, we seek a Livestock Manager who will be a critical driver in optimising the farm business''s profitability by efficiently and sustainably increasing production.Working closely with the farm owner to oversee all farm operations, you will take a handson role and share in key decisionmaking. To achieve this, a conscientious and selfmotivated work ethic, along with a desire to take ownership of the farm''s business success, is essential.ResponsibilitiesCattle husbandry, including marking, feeding, drenching, weaning, and general animal health.Grazing management and pasture establishment.Construction and maintenance of fencing.Machinery, equipment, and infrastructure maintenance.Regular reporting to owners as required, including reporting on livestock, pasture, and machinery.Working alongside owners to develop and plan farm programs and calendars.Managing staff & Liaising with contractors.The Employer:Our clients are a familyowned, highly productive, and wellappointed beef breeding and finishing operation. They run 2,000 breeding cows over 4,500 acres on productive volcanic heavy clay and loam soils in the highrainfall area of SouthWest Victoria. Cows are joined via natural mating and artificial insemination, and weaners are fed to 16 months of age to be bought by feedlots and backgrounders.They have a strong focus on optimising production per hectare across their properties. With scope for gains in production and efficiencies through genetics, pasture, and paddock management, their business aims to profitably improve and evolve in line with and beyond the industry standard.The Offer:An attractive salary package is available for negotiation with the successful candidate.
