OverviewClinical Research Assistant (Part-time, Fixed Term) at The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth (JPCE) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our growing research team. This part-time position (0.6 EFT) offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative and impactful pancreatic cancer research within a dynamic clinical environment. The Clinical Research Assistant supports research activities across the JPCE, providing essential assistance to Clinical Trial/Research Coordinators and the Research Program Manager. You will help ensure studies are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with ethical, regulatory, and institutional guidelines. This hands-on role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced research setting and is passionate about advancing cancer care through high-quality clinical and translational research.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch Support: Assist with the coordination and daily execution of clinical research activities within the JPCE; provide administrative and operational support to ensure research projects meet institutional, ethical, and regulatory requirements; work closely with Clinical Trial/Research Coordinators and the Research Program Manager to facilitate the smooth running of studies.Laboratory Responsibilities: Perform laboratory duties in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards; collect, process, label, and store biospecimens accurately and efficiently; coordinate the shipment and tracking of samples to external laboratories or partners; maintain laboratory documentation and ensure all equipment, procedures, and workflows comply with GLP and organisational standards.Data Management: Support accurate and timely entry, maintenance, and monitoring of clinical research data across various registries and research databases; ensure all data activities adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines; assist with data audits, quality assurance activities, and preparation of reports to maintain data integrity.You will make an impact by: supporting a wide range of clinical research studies across the JPCE; assisting with study documentation, data accuracy, and maintenance of research databases and clinical registries; performing laboratory tasks, including biospecimen collection, processing, storage, and shipment in alignment with GLP; contributing to the development and maintenance of research policies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines; working collaboratively with clinicians, investigators, allied health professionals, and research participants; contributing to a genomics service supporting access to molecular and genomic testing for Epworth patients.About YouYou are a proactive and organised team player with a strong interest in clinical research.
