About Equestrian NSWEquestrian NSW invites expressions of interest from high-calibre professionals who are motivated to contribute their expertise to the leadership of equestrian sport in New South Wales. This is a voluntary, appointed Board role for an initial 12-month term.The OpportunityThis appointment offers a meaningful opportunity to shape the future of equestrian sport at a strategic level. The Board is seeking an individual who can bring strong professional insight and independent thinking, particularly in one of the following areas:Law, policy or regulatory expertise, including governance, risk, compliance, advocacy or complex stakeholder environments; orStrategic finance experience, with a focus on financial sustainability, risk oversight, long-term planning and organisational strategy.The successful candidate will complement the existing Board skill set and contribute to thoughtful, future-focused decision-making in a dynamic and evolving sport environment.Role of a Board DirectorAs a Director of Equestrian NSW, you will:Act in the best interests of the organisation and its membersContribute to the strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the sport in NSWProvide governance oversight, including financial stewardship, risk management and complianceSupport and advise the Chief Executive Officer while maintaining appropriate accountabilityChampion high standards of integrity, transparency and ethical leadershipSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will bring:A strong legal background or senior-level strategic finance capability with an emphasis on strategy and risk,The ability to think strategically and systemically,Sound judgement, independence and the confidence to contribute constructively at Board level,Strong communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders,Experience in Board or senior governance roles preferably within not-for-profit, sport or member-based organisations (highly desirable but not essential), andA genuine alignment with the values, purpose and community impact of Equestrian NSWTerm of AppointmentInitial appointment: 12 monthsAny extension beyond this period will be by invitation of the Board, based on organisational needs and contributionNominationsExpressions of Interest (EOIs) should be emailed to the Nominations Committee care of the CEO Vireena Peacock [email protected] and include a brief synopsis of the nominee''s skills, experience, and qualifications, and how they will add value to the Equestrian NSW Board.
