Based in Intium''s Sydney CBD office, this role offers a flexible working arrangement of 23 days per week in the office.The position is embedded within the Intium team and reports into Essential Energy''s Procurement function, providing a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of commercial innovation and enterprise-scale procurement. The role has a broad and impactful remit, supported by a specialist procurement ecosystem including Partnering & Sourcing, Procurement Operations, and the Governance and Improvement teams.This role provides strategic procurement leadership and partnering, working closely with senior leaders, operational teams and thirdparty suppliers to ensure procurement outcomes deliver valueformoney, support business objectives and meet governance and compliance requirements. This role will provide expert commercial and technical procurement leadership across sourcing, contracting and supplier engagement.The focus will be to support the Intium team with the procurement of both key materials (such as transformers & switchgear) and services (such as design and construction) typically associated with renewable energy projects.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent Procurement as a trusted strategic partner to executives and internal stakeholders, embedding procurement into planning and decisionmaking processesConduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and reliabilityCollaborate and work closely with engineering, estimating and delivery teams to align procurement with project goalsLead sourcing events and contract negotiation activities across complex, highimpact procurement projectsClarify technical queries with vendors and coordinate technical deviation, conduct technical bid evaluationsOversee vendor qualification, performance monitoring, and risk mitigationReview payment milestones, delivery terms, warranties, and LD clausesCoordinate with logistics teams to resolve supply chain issuesChampion procurement governance by promoting compliance with policies, probity and legislative requirementsIdentify, assess and proactively manage procurementrelated risks, including commercial, compliance, supplier and strategic risksCollaborate with stakeholders to identify and forecast future procurement needs, supporting forward planning and demand visibilityPromote and demonstrate behaviours that support safety, ethical conduct, respect, equity, diversity and inclusionAbout YouYou are an experienced procurement professional with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders in complex, assetintensive environments.You have an engineering background with substantial experience within power, utilities or EPC projects. You have a strong understanding of transmission and distribution equipment, technical specifications and drawings.Required QualificationsBachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain or demonstrated equivalent capability through experience and/or relevant qualificationsDesirable QualificationsMember, or eligibility for membership, of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)Experience and SkillsEngineering background, with 5+ years in procurement within power, utilities, or EPC projects.Proven experience leading complex project procurement sourcing and contract management activitiesHigh level commercial acumen with the ability to use data to drive business outcomesStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse groupsClear, logical and pragmatic approach to procurement compliance and decisionmakingProblem-solving ability and adaptability in dynamic environments.Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.Ethical and committed to sustainability and compliance.Collaborative and influential communicator.Why Join UsAt Intium, we are attracting diverse talent who want to make a real difference with a career that matters.
