Under the supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager and Laboratory Manager, this role encompasses a wide range of departments; working with patients, doctors, nursing and scientific staff.RoleIt is a very busy role, critical for the running of an IVF unit with lots of variety. Your typical day will include:Procurement of supplies a large portion of this role involves ordering linen, IVF lab supplies, administrative supplies and consumables across the entire clinic.Preparing the lab for daily procedures including assisting the lab with washing, wrapping and sterilising of all glassware.Monitoring reagents and maintaining adequate inventory and timely purchasing of necessary supplies.Liaising with the hospital ensuring CSSD supplies are sufficient for the daily/weekly procedures.Responsible for receiving, archiving and removal of used linen & CSSD equipment in accordance with established procedures.Assisting with general nursing and laboratory administration.QualificationsA certification in Science & Technology, biology, CSSD or related discipline is desirable but not essential.What do you need to succeed?Previous work as a procurement officer.Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.Genuine interest in science and being part of a team.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).Common sense and the ability to remain calm in heightened situations.Organisational skills and ability to prioritise your day.High attention to detail.Being part of a supportive and collaborative team.Embracing variety and problemsolving.Full working rights in Australia.Additional InformationSo why Genea Newcastle and why this role?
