OverviewPart Time Dental Assistant will support dental services at Marngoneet Correctional Centre in Lara, VIC, working 1 day a week, every Friday, with potential additional days at other locations.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the dental suite with quality, safety and efficiency.Coordinate all referrals for oral health services, including screening, triage and scheduling of appointments.Preset materials and equipment required for dental procedures.Uphold infection control standards and procedures in the dental clinic in accordance with GEO Healthcare policy and procedures.Undertake sterilisation processes in accordance with infection control standards and GEO Healthcare policy and procedures.Perform general clerical duties required for the operation of the dental clinic (phone, coordination and triage of activities, communication with other members of the GEO Healthcare team and Corrections Victoria custodial staff).Assist in preparing the dental clinic for daily operation and maintain sterilisation of dental instruments, disinfecting and general cleanliness of the dental clinic.QualificationsCertificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent.Minimum one year of professional experience in dental work.Previous experience in practice administration highly desirable.Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Other RequirementsIonising Radiation Apparatus Use Licence in Victoria for intraoral radiography (Licence to provide dental panoramic radiography is desirable).Ability to work within a prison setting, involving direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.Equal Opportunity Employer that actively promotes diversity and inclusion for all employees. #J-18808-Ljbffr
