Culturally inclusive, GCASA supports diverse communities and operates within a framework protecting rights and dignity. Services include counselling, information, resources, group work, and professional training.Position ObjectiveTo provide timely and effective crisis intervention to people who have been sexually assaulted within the past two weeks and who present within the Inner Gippsland.To provide relevant information to assist the person who has experienced sexual assault in making informed decisions and where appropriate to advocate on their behalf.To provide a trauma informed face to face crisis response to people who have experienced a recent incident of family violence and their children.To provide appropriate support and assistance to people who have experienced family violence and their children including MARAM risk assessment, safety planning and the provision of information, material aid and referrals.To comply with information sharing requirements as directed by the CEO/ Director Therapeutic Services, Manager Therapeutic Services SASS and Senior Clinician Crisis Care.Position responsibilitiesThis role will work with children and young people with disabilities and their families primarily referred to our Refocus Service.Perform initial and ongoing risk and safety assessments, as well as manage them in accordance with the MARAM framework.Manage a clinical caseload, performing client assessments, case formulations, recommendations, and intervention planning, as well as overseeing case reviews and closure procedures. This also involves providing progress reports on clients as requested by parents, caregivers, legal representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed clinical interventions and counselling to children and young people, as well as their families, who may exhibit harmful sexualized behaviour.Assist in engaging children and young people with our program through outreach efforts.Provide care coordination and advocacy for clients, as needed, to enhance community connections and support their understanding of their rights.Ensure confidential, accurate, and up-to-date client record-keeping in accordance with GCASA policy, as well as maintain client statistical records to comply with legal, ethical, and organisational standards.Demonstrate positive emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills to engage clients, foster effective relationships with stakeholders, and advocate for the client''s best interests within the service system.Attend and actively contribute to internal and external care team meetings to support care coordination and service planning for the client.Actively participate in regular internal clinical and line management supervision, engage in peer support activities, and attend ongoing professional development in areas relevant to the role. Seek consultation with specialist services when necessary.Contribute to planning of GCASA''s quality improvement work by participating in team meetings, service reviews, evaluations, and projects.Work from other office based and outreach locations.Other duties as requested by the CEO or the CEO''s delegateKey Selection CriteriaNote: all applications require a written response to the key selection criteria in order to be considered. You will need to show understanding of each requirement and how you align to each requirement with your experience and qualifications.Degree or tertiary level qualification, or equivalent certification, from a nationally accredited provider, in fields such as social work, social welfare, counselling, creative arts therapies, or community mental health nursing.A minimum of 2 years recent experience working with children and young people and their families, and a demonstrated and comprehensive understanding and experience of child developmental theory and harmful sexual behaviour.Knowledge related to the incidence and impact of sexual assault, as well as an understanding of the gender dynamics that support the occurrence of sexual assault.An understanding and application of theoretical frameworks underpinning trauma informed practice, behavioural support and harmful sexual behaviour for children and young people.Possess well-developed client record keeping capacity, including case noting, administrative and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task and use a broad range of computer and IT skills.Knowledge of the legislative requirements governing the collection and storage of personal information; client confidentiality and the protection of all GCASA clients.Willingness to travel across our service areas as and to Melbourne for professional development if relevant.
