We assist people with a disability to achieve their full potential enabling each person to enjoy quality of life whilst also becoming a valued community member.GPSO is progressively expanding our services and as such we are looking for compassionate and dedicated applicants who want to work with an impressive organisation and who are committed to delivering quality supports.ABOUT THE ROLEThe WHS & Training Support Officer will assist with the management of risk and maintenance of staff training and will report to the WHS & Training Manager.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with all aspects of WHS including maintenance monthly inspections risk assessments fire drills insurance claims equipment and first aid kit inspections.Reports to WHS & Training Coordinator.Receive review incident / hazards reports of low to medium rating take immediate corrective actions with relevant parties to make the situation safe. Monitor corrective actions to ensure risks are eliminated isolated or minimised with directive from WHS & Training Manager.Assist the WHS & Training Manager in investigations of accidents incidents near misses and unsafe working conditions of low to medium rating including an investigation report recommendations identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures.Assist the WHS & Training Manager to update and review training plans. Including maintaining company training management system (Employment Hero)Assist the WHS & Training Manager with staff training enrolments.Support the WHS and Training Manager in assigning required training modules to new staff anid tracking their completionAssst with the induction of new staff over their two day onboarding period by providing a workplace tour and ensuring all training and departmental meetings are completed and signed offAssist with the development of training content on Employment Hero.Assist to monitor and ensure staff compliance with required certificate and licences.Assist the WHS & Training Manager with any identified training needs/gaps.Assist the WHS & Training Manager with the implementation of GPSOs return to work program and support worker(s) with the recovery at work.Assist with the management of incoming phone calls and general receptionist duties including attending to enquiries and greeting visitors.Maintain a high level of communication amongst team members including acknowledging service schedules and notification messages through GPSOs systemsSELECTION CRITERIAESSENTIALDemonstrated experience in a similar role.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast paced high-volume environment.Flexible and adaptable to a changing and growing business environment.Excellent organisational skills.Working knowledge of WHS legislation.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.Demonstrated solid verbal and written English skills.High level of computer literacy.Hold a current Drivers Licence.Hold a Working with Children Check.Hold a current NDIS Worker Clearance.Hold a NDIS Worker Screening or willing obtain.Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module.Meet the inherent requirements relevant to the position.DESIREDCertificate III or IV in Work Health and Safety.TO APPLY OR FOR MORE INFORMATIONTo be considered for this role you must submit your application online.
