This is a critical technical leadership role responsible for delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions that directly impact plant performance and asset integrity. This role is permanent on an 8/6 FIFO roster.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a Statutory Supervisor under Section 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022, ensuring statutory compliance of all assets and activities under your controlDemonstrate visible safety leadership in the field and actively contribute to site safety improvement initiativesProvide technical fault finding, failure analysis and investigation support for complex mechanical and equipment performance issuesDevelop detailed scopes of work, repair methodologies and technical documentation for major and complex maintenance activitiesDeliver plant improvement and reliability projects, including conceptual design, project management and execution supportInitiate and manage small capital projects in line with the site Project FrameworkIdentify, assess and mitigate key mechanical breakdown risks across siteOptimise costs through diligent project management and application of the Project Edge processMaintain project trackers, manage priorities and escalate risks or issues as requiredProvide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to engineers, maintenance personnel, graduates and cadetsAbout YouYou are a proactive, technically strong mechanical engineer with a background in mining or heavy industry, and a demonstrated ability to lead projects and solve complex problems. You are comfortable working in the field, collaborating with maintenance crews, and influencing outcomes through sound engineering judgement. Qualifications and requirements include:Accredited Mechanical Engineering degree recognised by Engineers AustraliaStatutory Supervisor accreditation (Schedule 26 WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022)Significant experience in the mineral processing industryWorking knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and legislationWorking at Heights and Confined Space certificationsExperience leading and managing teamsSAP experienceC Class Driver''s LicenceAbout Telfer OperationsTelfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia''s East Pilbara region.
