This meaningful role is ideal for someone who feels called to share comfort, encouragement, and compassionate presence with those who may benefit from it. As a pastoral care volunteer, you''ll also remain connected and involved with a local Christian church, helping ensure residents receive care that honours their faith, dignity, and wellbeing. Your kindness can bring peace, reassurance, and a sense of connection to someone who truly values it.You''ll supplement and complement the work of our Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:Support people to meet their spiritual needsSkills required for this roleHigh level of interpersonal skills including strong empathy and listening skills.Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.Your impactVolunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself.
