The Assistant Director role will work closely with the Director to support the day-to-day activities of operational HR. The role is subject to the agile operating needs of the Department, with the number and timeframe for projects and deliverables evolving in line with organisational priorities.SuccessWorking with various stakeholders on the onboarding and recruitment processes, including providing tailored options and solutions to a wide range of recruitment-based problemsProvide expert advice and guidance, monitor changes in APS employment conditions, recruitment policies, procedures and legislation, share knowledge and identify emerging issuesDevelopment, input and review into recruitment and other HR policies and other relevant forms requiredHave a continuous improvement outlook to develop and review processes and procedures to ensure fit for purpose ways of workingFinalise configuration of the new recruitment systemAssist with the establishment of the new payroll system and ongoing service with the providerManage the day-to-day components of the incoming Graduate Program, including coordination of the rotations, necessary reports, pastoral care for graduates and supervisorsAssist with developing a job description library for the AuthorityPreparing and contributing to briefs, papers and reportsLiaise with the Director to manage the team performance, as well as identify and set work prioritiesExperienceStrong technical knowledge of APS recruitment legislation and regulationsDemonstrated experience in a similar role managing APS recruitment and onboarding processes, including knowledge of APS gazette requirementsKnowledge of payroll process and requirementsExperience managing/coordinating a Graduate or similar entry level programGood communication skills including the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholdersAbility to support and manage APS level staff, including identifying capability gaps and providing development and mentoringEstablishing new processes and systems in the Federal Government environmentCurrent baseline security clearanceExperience with eRecruit and AurionNon-ongoing and section 26 transfers encouraged to apply #J-18808-Ljbffr
