Healius has an expansive network of over 100 medical laboratories and 2000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.We provide 1 in every 3 pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia''s largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to small Indigenous Australian communities.This means that you will be working in a business large enough to offer you job stability & security, interstate mobility and the opportunity to fulfil your career ambitions.About The RoleAs Pathology Courier, you will be responsible for the picking-up and transportation of Pathology Samples, Specimens, Blood/Blood Products X-rays and Vaccines, this could be across Medical Centres, Collection Centres, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and Veterinarian Surgeries for delivery to Laboratories in various locations.You will be ensuring a safe and efficient process as you manage 30+ stops per day, playing a crucial part in providing quality health services to the people in our communities.Your key responsibilities will include:Pick-up and delivery of Pathology Samples, Specimens, Blood/Blood Products X-rays, Vaccines and clinical waste to and from referring customers across the New England areaLiaising between Referring Medical Practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer with regards to store ordersPreparation and delivery of reports and stock control in main laboratoryMaintaining patient confidentiality and integrityFollowing operating procedure to complete correct specimen coding documentationCompliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Work Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance processesAbout YouValid open Australian driver''s license with an excellent driving recordAbility to work various shifts including rostered weekends and public holidaysGreat interpersonal skills you will use to liaise with different stakeholders as well as strong written communication skillsExcellent time management skills, juggling up to 30 stops per dayPhysical capability to be able to handle equipment weighing regularly up to 10kg -15kgThe ability to follow instructions and use initiative to make sound decisionsPrevious courier experience is considered highly advantageousHold a working with Children''s Check or be willing to obtain oneYou must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to workWe believe everyone leads, no matter what role they are in.
