This means that you will be working in a business large enough to offer you job stability & security, interstate mobility and the opportunity to fulfil your career ambitions.About The RoleWe are seeking a Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team, who will be responsible for:Reporting blood films and conducting specialist testingOperating haematology analysersPerforming manual and automated diagnostic testingPerforming routine procedures from specimen reception through to result execution for pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissectionMaintaining records and documenting results in accordance with protocolsMaintaining and operating laboratory equipment in line with established procedures, and assisting with stock controlMaintaining current scientific knowledge and participating in staff training as requiredParticipating in routine and auditrelated quality assurance activitiesContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and assisting with the development of new assaysLiaising with internal and/or external stakeholders (including referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessaryComplying with all policies, procedures, workplace health and safety requirements, and quality assurance processesAbout YouTo be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:Hold a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or equivalentDemonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in Haematology (preferred)Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshootingThe ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in line with NATA/ISO accreditationThe ability to work independently with minimal supervisionA strong commitment to quality and excellenceA willingness to follow departmental and organisational policies and proceduresA positive, collaborative approach and strong interpersonal and organisational skillsStrong timemanagement skills and the ability to manage in a busy environmentStrong problemsolving skills, selfinitiative and exceptional attention to detailThis role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseasesWe believe everyone leads, no matter what role they are in.
