About The OpportunityAs an integral part of the safety team reporting to the National Safety Manager, you will support the delivery of our Health and Safety Improvement Plan. You will act as a coach and partner to managers, building on leadership and risk management capabilities while championing a safety-first culture across the business. Further responsibilities include role modelling visible felt leadership and ensuring safety and health systems and processes are understood and implemented effectively by the line.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining a working knowledge of relevant safety and health legislation, trends and new initiatives impacting on the business.Monitoring, measuring, tracking and reporting on and closing out of corrective actions from risk assessments, investigations and audits.Providing advice, coaching and development to managers and supervisors to develop their safety and health knowledge and capability.Yearly participation in detailed internal audits of sites throughout Australia.Assisting and supporting line management with safety incident investigations, including the determination and tracking of correct and preventative measures.Assisting and supporting line management in identifying, assessing, controlling and reviewing health and safety hazards.About YouTo be successful in this role you will need:A Diploma of WHS and/ or a commensurate level of experience and willingness to gain appropriate qualifications.Previous experience in a safety or related leadership role within a high-risk environment. e.g. quarrying, mining, oil & gas or heavy industrial manufacturing is preferred but not essential.Relevant experience in behavioural safety and / or Critical Risk Management programmes.Current knowledge of OH&S legislation and practices.Demonstrated ability to drive and promote Holcim''s We Keep Each Other Safe culture.Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and with all functions.Willingness to regularly travel to Rockhampton and Townsville to coach and mentor site leaders to effectively manage risk.About HolcimHolcim is a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, enabling greener cities, smarter infrastructure and improved living standards.
