Birriliburu Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Ranger Coordinator to lead our ranger team in delivering conservation and cultural programs across the Birriliburu Indigenous Protected Area (IPA). This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, land management, and cultural engagement in one of Australias most remote and beautiful desert landscapes. About Us Birriliburu Pty Ltd works in partnership with Traditional Owners to protect biodiversity, manage land sustainably, and strengthen cultural knowledge across the Birriliburu IPA. Our programs blend traditional ecological knowledge with modern conservation practices to care for country and support Martu communities. The Role As Ranger Coordinator, you will: Lead and mentor a team of rangers, fostering a positive and inclusive culture. Plan and deliver field operations, including logistics, safety, and reporting. Engage respectfully with Traditional Owners, Elders, and community members. Ensure compliance with WHS standards and safe work procedures. Operate and maintain ranger equipment, including 4WD vehicles, GPS, and data tools. Support scientific monitoring and collaborate with researchers. What Were Looking For Experience in conservation, land management, ranger programs, or natural resource management. Ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people and follow cultural protocols. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Competence in remote travel, 4WD driving, and practical problem-solving. Current drivers licence and ability to camp on-country. Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain). Desirable Certificate III/IV in Conservation & Land Management or related field. Experience in Indigenous Protected Areas or ranger programs. Skills in fire operations, chainsaw use, quad/side-by-side vehicles, or pest management.
