About the role The Kurnai Homelessness Service provides support to people aged over 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness within the Baw Baw / Latrobe Valley catchment area. The program provides case management, advocacy, outreach, support and referral. About You Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA vision and purpose A TAFE or tertiary qualification in a relevant field along with demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal young people would be highly considered Experience and the ability to work in a culturally respectful manner with the Community member to achieve the best possible housing outcome. A sound knowledge of the housing sector, VCAT processes, REIV processes. Demonstrated ability to provide a range of interventions with people who have complex needs and behaviours. The ability to apply a flexible, non-judgmental and empowering approach to service delivery and work in Community. A proven ability to negotiate and advocate on behalf of the Community member with other stakeholders, real estate agencies and housing providers. An ability to undertake case management tasks, such as assessments, referrals, case planning and exit planning. An ability to work effectively with Aboriginal organisations, government departments and community service organizations. Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Childrens Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
