Pay: $38.65 to $41.45 p/hour + salary packaging + 12% superExciting opportunity to join a new project providing high quality translations for Deaf Auslan users.Multiple fixed term positionsSupportive and inclusive environment working for a leading NFP organisationFantastic salary packaging benefits (increased take home pay)About the role:The Auslan Translator will be proactive in enabling the Translation Service to respond to the access needs of Deaf Auslan users by providing high quality translations in a variety of mediums provided both externally and internally.Main responsibilities of the role include:Provide quality Auslan translations according to the details within the assigned projectWork with other Translators and project administrators in the provision of the Translation ServiceAbide by the ASLITA Code of Ethics and the organisations Code of ConductContribute to a high standard of professional service by upholding the vision, mission and values of the organisation.About you:In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:Hold a current NAATI English to Auslan Recognised Practicing Translator certificate or commit to obtaining within six monthsFluency in Auslan, knowledge and understanding of the Deaf community, its language and cultureAbility to adjust language register to meet the audience needsGood understanding of EnglishAbility to work independently to access and collate informationPositive and flexible attitudeExperience in Auslan translationsYou should also let us know if you have these other great skills:Good ability to use technology and equipment including cameras, lighting and tripodsAbout Us:Deaf Connect is the largest, whole-of-life service provider and social impact organisation for Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing Australians.
