This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a supportive team committed to health equity.As the Counsellor (Child Healing Practitioner) you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed healing and counselling support to children, young people and families impacted by child sexual abuse, family and domestic violence, grief and loss.You will be working within a community health team, that supports children and families on their healing journeys and strengthens community capacity through therapeutic intervention, psycho-education, and group programs grounded in culture, safety and respect.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide culturally safe and trauma-informed counselling to children, young people, adults and familiesFoster a healing environment that supports recovery, resilience and connection to cultureMaintain and manage a clinical caseload in line with program targetsDeliver outreach counselling, group programs and psycho-education in remote communitiesMaintain accurate case notes, data entry and outcomes reporting in line with organisational requirementsParticipate in supervision, team meetings and reflective practiceBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAssist in the development and delivery of group and community-based healing programsContribute to quality improvement, training and trauma-informed service developmentPromote organisational services within the community and partner agenciesEssential CriteriaFemale applicant, as permitted under Section 27 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA)Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture, values and community contextsStrong knowledge of trauma, including child sexual abuse, family and domestic violence, and grief and lossTertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related discipline (or relevant Diploma/Certificate with extensive professional and lived experience)Experience working therapeutically with children, young people and familiesManual C Class Drivers LicenseWillingness to drive a 4WD vehicleLocation InformationYou will be based in the heart of Western Australias Pilbara Region, with regular outreach to surrounding remote Aboriginal communities.
