OverviewAbout The Role Our Adelaide Depot has an opening for an Allocator a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight. This fast-paced position requires a proactive and strategic approach to managing freight coordination, workforce supervision, and compliance. The primary objective is to ensure freight is received, loaded, and dispatched efficiently while meeting strict deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.ResponsibilitiesFreight & Logistics Coordination - Oversee the timely and efficient movement of freight and deliveriesWarehouse & Team Leadership - Manage warehouse floor operations, supervise forklift drivers, and maintain stock accuracyOperational Compliance - Ensure adherence to fatigue, mass, and maintenance requirements in line with NHVR laws and legislationSafety Management - Promote and enforce workplace safety standardsLoad Planning & Scheduling - Build and optimise freight loads to align with customer needs and operational efficiencyResource & Equipment Planning - Strategically allocate assets to maximise performanceProcess Enforcement - Implement and uphold business processes and operational rules to maintain high standardsAbout You / QualificationsSupervisory Experience - Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a high-pressure environmentFast-Paced Environment Experience - A background in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, retail, or other high-speed operationsStrong Communication & Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to make quick decisions, coordinate teams, and liaise effectively with stakeholdersAdaptability & Resilience - Comfortable handling multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and working under pressureTransport Knowledge (Preferred but Not Essential) - Understanding of freight networks is beneficial but not required; training will be providedBFM Accreditation or Willingness to Obtain - Familiarity with NHVR regulations and legal weight requirements is an advantageFlexibility - Willing to work varying hours, including weekends, as requiredDriven by Challenge - Thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces problem-solving, and enjoys finding solutions in dynamic situationsWe encourage applications from candidates with prior produce experience across such industries as transport, logistics and warehousing.About The CompanyLindsay Transport is Australia''s largest fresh produce transporter, delivering temperature-sensitive freight to major markets and grocery distribution centres.
