As part of the senior leadership team, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) (PVC (ILE)) drives the implementation of UTSs Indigenous Policy and related strategies, advancing the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, promoting Indigenous teaching and research, supporting Indigenous staff employment, and leading engagement across the University and community. The Office is led by the PVC (ILE), who also serves as Executive Director of the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research.About the roleThe Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance (SPG) is primarily responsible for managing the review of strategies, policies, procedures and plans, maintaining oversight of the Office of PVC (ILE)s key deliverables and managing selected projects in UTS Indigenous Education and Research Strategy 2025-2030, the Wingara Indigenous Employment Strategy 2019-2026 and the Universities Australia Indigenous Strategy 2022-2025 as well as the Indigenous initiatives in UTS 2030 and the UTS Creative Industries Strategy.The Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance manages the master program of key deliverables and provides advice to the PVC (ILE) and the Director, Strategy and Operations on the status of key projects and risks to delivery. The role drives governance and reporting frameworks that support effective project delivery and implementation, while leading the Strategy, Projects and Governance team to ensure coordination, accountability, and alignment across the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement).About YouAs the Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance, you will:Under the direction of the PVC (ILE) and the Director, Strategy and Operations develop and oversee strategic consultation programs encompassing stakeholder meetings, workshops, feedback methodologies, engagement mechanisms, and standardised templates to support the development, review, and update of UTS strategies, policies, procedures, and plansIn collaboration with the PVC (ILE) and the Director, Strategy and Operations manage the development and implementation of a range of complex, UTS-wide Indigenous initiatives.Develop and maintain a master program that includes relevant projects and strategic initiatives from UTS Indigenous Education and Research Strategy 2025-2030, the Wingara Indigenous Employment Strategy 2019-2026 and the Universities Australia Indigenous Strategy 2022-2025 as well as the Indigenous initiatives in UTS 2030 and the UTS Creative Industries StrategyAt the direction of the Director, Strategy and Operations, the Manager leads the governance functions for the Office of the PVC (ILE) including the Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of sustainable governance frameworks for the Office of the PVC (ILE), ensuring alignment with university-wide, GSU, and Office-specific principles, procedures, and strategic priorities.Provide effective leadership of direct reports, setting clear goals, building staff capability, and cultivating a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.Selection criteriaWith examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following five selection criteria points below:Understanding or ability to develop understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and engage with all staff in a manner that is respectful, collegiate and thoughtful.
