If you enjoy running complex operations, building strong teams, and working closely with major industrial customers, this is a role where you can genuinely make your mark.The opportunity Youll have end-to-end accountability for a large metropolitan logistics operation, overseeing:A fleet of semi-trailers, road train combinations, and containerised freight movementsA frontline workforce of ~18 drivers, with a direct report Fleet SupervisorSafety, compliance, and Chain of Responsibility across all activitiesCustomer DIFOT, SLA performance, and seamless operational integrationFull P&L ownership, cost control, forecasting, and productivity improvementWorking closely with the WA State Manager, youll plan, execute, and continuously optimise operations to ensure the business meets and exceeds safety, service, and profitability targets.ResponsibilitiesLeading day-to-day transport operations with a strong safety-first mindsetEmbedding a proactive safety culture through regular engagement, training, and toolbox talksManaging fleet rotation, maintenance, presentation, and complianceDriving productivity improvements across labour, fleet utilisation, and cost-to-revenue ratiosBuilding trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholdersEnsuring accurate reporting, invoicing support, and KPI performance trackingDeveloping your leaders and drivers through coaching, performance management, and succession planningManaging fatigue, rostering, leave balances, and workforce coverageIdentifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across service, cost, and capabilityWhat were looking for10+ years experience in transport or logistics operations leadershipProven success building and sustaining strong safety culturesSolid understanding of fatigue management, load restraint, mass management, and CoRDemonstrated P&L and commercial acumenExperience leading drivers, supervisors, and frontline operational teamsStrong customer engagement and stakeholder management capabilityTMS experience and comfort working with operational reporting systemsResilience, sound judgement, and the ability to lead in a fast-moving, high-accountability environmentDesirable but not essentialTertiary qualifications in transport, logistics, or supply chainAMMS or similar accreditation exposureMechanical aptitude and fleet inspection experienceWhy this role stands outEnd-to-end operational ownership not just keeping the lights onA visible leadership role within a large, growing logistics businessOpportunity to shape culture, systems, and long-term capabilityStrong backing from senior leadership with clear strategy and directionCompetitive package, wellbeing support, and long-term career progressionThis is a MondayFriday role; however the nature of the operation requires flexibility and availability when the business needs it this is a true leadership position, not a clock-watching one.Interested?This opportunity is being managed exclusively and confidentially.
