These Groups guide and enable the development of Metrea''s products, projects, and programs to help them achieve their objectives efficiently and effectively.Position SummaryWe are seeking a senior mission crew aviation leader and manager to join our rapidly expanding team in Australia. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of delivering ISR operations, from a mission crew perspective, including the management of teams of provisional aviators and supervisory oversight of mission delivery. They will also have strong understanding and familiarity with the programme management aspects of ISR services in the defence and security sectors, particularly with contractor delivered operations and be skilled in relationship management with senior government officials.Role and ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary operational liaison between Metrea and the Commonwealths mission coordination elements to ensure effective delivery of mission effects.Provide senior operator leadership, line management of site leads and senior supervision to deployed team of Sensor Operators and Mission Systems Technicians.Oversee coordination between pilots, mission system operators, and customer representatives to ensure operational safety and mission success.Ensure delivery of agreed surveillance effects, including mission readiness, availability, and response times are aligned with customer requirements and the contracted Performance Management Framework.Maintain situational awareness of mission performance metrics, support programme performance reviews to inform continuous improvement initiatives under the Capability Innovations and Efficiencies Program.Support the Program Manager in maintaining operational relationships, contract compliance, and performance reporting to the Commonwealth.Be the regional lead for Metrea Aviation Operations in APAC, providing market facing profile and presence and Metrea facing Capability Area and File-based leadership.Education and ExperienceEquivalent operational or Defence experience may be considered.Minimum 10 years of experience in Defence or civil airborne ISR operations as Tactical Coordinator/Director or Mission Commander.Significant demonstrable experience in an ISR leadership, management and supervisory role, across multidisciplinary air and ground crew and operational support personnel.Direct experience as an advisor, liaison officer or functional staff member in operational coordination and mission delivery at HQ level and with operational level end-user interaction in an operations center.Practical experience in ISR programme management and delivery.Proven ability to coordinate complex operational transitions or service commencements in government or Defence environments.Experience engaging with Commonwealth clients, particularly in high-security and aviation-regulated settings.Strong understanding of CASA Part 138 operations, airborne ISR mission systems, and aircrew coordination.Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, performance management frameworks and mission performance reporting to HQ level.Familiarity with ASDEFCON frameworks and risk management processes.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships at senior operational levels.Key AttributesOutput and outcome focused with very strong operational awareness and customer orientation.Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Ability to adapt between strategic planning, operational coordination and tactical mission oversight.Collaborative, diplomatic communicator able to build consensus under pressure.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
