Overview Head of Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) Consumer Smart Hardware & Robotics Location: Sydney or Melbourne preferred (home-based initially) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Role & Opportunity The Opportunity: We are partnering with a global consumer smart-hardware manufacturer as they establish their Australia and New Zealand business. This is a senior, greenfield leadership role and represents the companys first overseas market entry. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of ANZ will act as the founding local leader, responsible for shaping market entry, building early traction, and progressively scaling the ANZ operation. This role offers genuine autonomy, visibility, and long-term leadership opportunity for a commercially minded operator who enjoys building markets, not inheriting them. Role Scope & Mandate The Head of ANZ will combine hands-on commercial execution with strategic leadership, particularly during the early phase of market entry. Initial focus areas include: Market Entry & Go-To-Market Strategy Define and execute the ANZ market entry strategy Develop local go-to-market plans across pricing, channels, positioning, and customer acquisition Validate product-market fit for Australian and New Zealand consumers Provide market insight and commercial feedback to global leadership Sales & Channel Development Design and implement the most effective ANZ sales model, which may include retail, distributors, specialist dealers, marketplaces and/or direct-to-consumer Establish and manage key commercial relationships with retail groups, distributors, and strategic partners Drive early revenue traction and build a sustainable sales pipeline Commercial & Operational Leadership Own day-to-day commercial operations during the build phase Oversee after-sales support, customer experience, and operational foundations Work closely with offshore product, engineering, and manufacturing teams Team & Business Build Recruit and lead the ANZ team as the business scales Establish a physical office when scale and timing are appropriate Build a high-performance local culture aligned with global strategy Executive Engagement Act as the senior ANZ representative of the business Partner closely with the CEO and global leadership on strategy, performance, and future expansion Products & Market The initial product focus is Ai-Driven consumer smart hardware and robotics, particularly in outdoor categories such as: Robotic lawn mowers Robotic Vacuums Robotic pool-cleaning These are integrated hardware and software solutions, sold through consumer-facing channels rather than enterprise or industrial markets. About You You are likely to bring: Senior commercial, general management, or category leadership experience within consumer hardware, consumer durables, smart home, appliances, or outdoor power equipment Proven experience launching or scaling products in the Australian and/or New Zealand market Strong understanding of retail, distributor, dealer, or channel-led sales models Comfort operating in greenfield or high-ambiguity environments Strong commercial judgement, resilience, and a hands-on leadership style Experience working with offshore manufacturing or APAC-based teams is advantageous.
