TRP + salary packaging (up to $15,900 p.a.)*** **Flexibility options, including hybrid WFH & office model****About the role**As the Director, Legal Help, you will provide strategic and operational leadership of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA)''s Legal Help service. You will ensure Legal Help''s portfolio of helplines operate as a trusted, reliable, accessible and high-quality entry point for people seeking help with legal and related problems from VLA and the legal assistance sector, and drive effective intake, triage and referral processes.Reporting to the Executive Director, Legal Practice, Civil Justice, and Legal Help, you will lead the delivery of high-volume, low-intensity services and the ongoing evolution of Legal Help into a modern, technology-enabled, flexible and scalable service. This includes strengthening referral pathways, improving consistency of intake practice across VLA offices, and building a capable, stable workforce. As a member of VLA''s Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to organisational priorities, lead and embed significant change and transformation initiatives, and work collaboratively with partners across the justice system to respond to emerging needs and demand.*This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.***About you**You are a strategic, inclusive and values-driven leader with a commitment to improving access to justice. You will bring:* Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated experience driving organisational and directorate priorities, leading and embedding positive cultural change, and responding effectively to emerging and changing needs.* A strong understanding of access to justice and the legal assistance sector, including the systemic challenges experienced by First Nations peoples and other priority cohorts, and a commitment to accessible, inclusive and culturally safe service design and delivery.* Demonstrated experience leading service innovation and growth in complex environments (ideally in a contact centre environment), including client-centred service design, effective use of data and insights, and sound financial and budget management.* Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the legal assistance and justice sectors, including government and key external stakeholders.* Strong project and change management capability, including building and leading multidisciplinary teams, engaging stakeholders, managing risk, and delivering structured communication, monitoring and reporting.**About Victoria Legal Aid** We offer legal representation, family dispute resolution and non-legal advocacy to those who need it most.
