Surveillance OfficerGrade 7/8 | Ongoing | Sydney CBD About Us The LECC independently monitors and reviews the investigation of complaints by the NSWPF and the NSWCC about the conduct of their officers. In doing so the LECC recognises the primary responsibility of those agencies to investigate and prevent officer misconduct and corruption within those agencies, while providing for oversight of those functions. The CSU provides a physical surveillance service to support the operation of serious misconduct investigations within LECC. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day collection and dissemination of intelligence, information and evidence through covert physical surveillance activities.To be suitable for this role you will have:Recognised physical surveillance training and experience from a law enforcement or regulatory environment including mobile, foot and static surveillance as well as demonstrated experience with communications systems, surveillance equipment and their covert application.Practical knowledge of methodologies related to covert surveillance and counter surveillance techniques. You must be able to display personal qualities of patience and resilience and have proven ability to work as part of a close-knit team in demanding and sensitive environments.Demonstrate experience in or be prepared to be certified in the operation of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).A sufficient level of physical fitness and stamina to undertake prolonged periods of observation across various operating environments.The role requires availability for regular attendance outside of normal working hours and on weekends and may involve periods of travel outside of Sydney region.A copy of the relevant role description can be downloaded via this link:Role DescriptionEligibilityTo be eligible to apply for this role you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and have a valid Australian driver''s licence.Serving or former sworn officers of the NSW Police Force are ineligible to apply for this role.Security VettingThe successful applicant will undergo a stringent security vetting process to establish reliability, trustworthiness, integrity and suitability of employment.In addition, LECC officers are also required to obtain a commonwealth security clearance, with the Surveillance Officer requiring clearance at a NV1 classification.How to applyIf you are excited by this opportunity, we look forward to receiving your application.
