Together, we make a difference in the lives of our patients and customers.Position OverviewThe Associate Engineer, Repair & Maintenance plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and productivity of manufacturing and non-manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive mindset to maintain and improve processes, equipment, and systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and implement maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.Coordinate and execute maintenance engineering tasks, including reviewing mechanical and electrical specifications.Document maintenance activities and update maintenance logs accuratelyAssess new equipment designs for reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts.Liaise with production teams to schedule and perform repairs, statutory safety inspections, and equipment installations without disrupting production schedules.Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues effectively and efficiently.Contribute to the development and refinement of production processes to improve efficiency and quality.Ensure compliance with Good Practice (GxP) regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain accurate documentation.Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and production processes.RequirementsHands-on approachwith a strong ability to work directly on equipment and processes.Strong teamthat can work with staff at all levels. i.e. Management, Engineering and Assembly TechniciansSelf-starterwho can work independently and take initiative in problem-solving and process improvement.Strong troubleshooting skillsfor diagnosing and resolving technical issues quickly.Willingness tohelp develop and refine production processesto enhance efficiency and improve quality.Experience or familiarity withToyota Business Systems(Lean principles, 5S, Visual Management, Kaizen, etc.) is highly beneficial.Mechatronics backgroundis considered highly beneficial.Commitment to compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.Strong communicationand ability towork collaborativelyin ateam environmentPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).2+ years'' Experience in a manufacturing or maintenance engineering environment.Knowledge of GxP regulations and SOP compliance.Soft Skills and Cultural FitAbility to learn quickly and adapt to changing environmentsCommitment to high-quality work and continuous improvementPositive attitude and willingness to take on new challengesComputer literacyFamiliar with reading technical drawing/interpretationWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Inclusive and innovative work environment.The chance to make a meaningful impact on global eye health.All applicants need to have full Australia work rights.Alcon CareersSee your impact at ATTENTION: Current Alcon Employee/Contingent WorkerIf you are currently an active employee/contingent worker at Alcon, please click the appropriate link below to apply on the Internal Career site.Find Jobs for EmployeesFind Jobs for Contingent Worker
