These programsaim to reduce high-risk behaviour and increase stability in the life of the young person through strategies to develop resilience and protective behaviours, increase involvement in activities which are meaningful for the young person and enhance self esteem and life skills, and in building opportunities for attachment to significant others and developing sustaining relationships. This is usually in conjunction with an intensive one-to-one home-based care.As the senior practitioner you will hold your own caseload as well as offering support and guidance to case managers which includes outreach, case plan reviews and supporting case practice.Ensure effective planning coordination of servicesSupport the leadership teamMentor and guide level 5 case managersFor more specific information about the program, position and key responsibilities, please view the position description attached here:Senior Practitioner - Out of Home Care PD OOHC E AW V1.1 About you:Experience at a high level within children and families or ideally in out of home care.Ability to lead, develop and mentor others.Experience or knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.Ability to provide children and young people with supportive placements whilst maintaining safety.A commitment to working with vulnerable children young people and families who have experienced trauma.Ability to show excellent assessment writing skills.What to expect day to day:Case Manage complex cases, work with young people with additional support packages.Proactive approach to case management which is characterised by a high level of contact with the young person.Support children and young people to sustain their current placements or to support them in the establishment of new placements.Provide support and guidance to staff and manage the contracting portfolio for the ICMS and TCP programs.Provide guidance, support and training case managers on best practices.Monitor caseloads for compliance with service delivery standards.Provide feedback and upskilling with staff members regarding their performance.Organise and contributing to the Senior Practitioner collaborative meetings.The important stuff:Salary starts at around $110,000 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 6 SCHCADS).Full time, permanent.Office location: Bendigo travel required throughout the region (pool cars available).Step in to a role that allows you to develop and improve your leadership skills.Ready to take the next step: Applications close on Sunday 22nd February 2026Click apply wherever you see the advert which will take you to our careers page, click apply there and submit your resume with a cover letter through the portal.
