Adelaide, South Australia, Australia (Hybrid) Job Description Voted #8 in Best Places to Work 2024 Strong company culture Australian owned and operated About the role We are seeking an experienced Test and Evaluation Manager to provide specialist ALSE Test and Evaluation services in support of CAF27 acquisition objectives. This role is responsible for shaping, leading, and assuring T&E activities across a range of aircraft life support equipment projects, ensuring capability outcomes are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with Commonwealth expectations. The position sits within a dedicated ALSE management unit operating from SILSPO and works closely with engineering, project management, and operational stakeholders. It is well suited to a senior aeronautical or systems engineer with strong test and evaluation experience and the confidence to lead both delivery and capability uplift. This role will suit someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical leadership with broader capability and people development, and who values disciplined, well-governed delivery in complex environments. What you will be involved with In this role, you will: - Provide Test and Evaluation Manager services to support ALSE acquisition outcomes under CAF27 - Develop and manage Test and Evaluation Management Plans aligned to project and capability milestones - Lead and steward Test and Evaluation Working Groups to ensure coordinated planning, execution, and reporting - Provide leadership across ALSE test and evaluation activities for assigned projects - Engage with stakeholders across engineering, project, and operational communities to support delivery of T&E outcomes - Contribute to the professional development of Capability Owner Account staff by building test and evaluation skills, experience, and quality deliverables - Coach and mentor junior engineers and project managers, supporting capability uplift within the team Project focus The role will support a portfolio of ALSE projects, including: - PSAR and CSAR pilot radio replacement - CBRN ensemble replacement for chemical warfare protection - Work will be predominantly focused on aircraft life support equipment, including oxygen systems, life rafts, helmets, and survival equipment. What we are looking for We are looking for a senior, technically credible professional who brings: - Experience as a Level 3 aeronautical engineer or systems engineer, ideally with ALSE exposure - Strong test and evaluation experience within aviation, Defence, or similarly regulated environments - Demonstrated capability in developing and executing Test and Evaluation Management Plans - Confidence leading technical working groups and engaging a broad stakeholder set - A collaborative leadership style with a focus on mentoring and capability development - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical outcomes into clear recommendations - An existing or ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate Defence security clearance - You must be an Australian citizen and already hold, or be eligible to hold, an AGSVA NV1 security clearance.
