Category and Contracts Manager - Corporate Services and FMApply now Job no: 504989Work type: Fixed TermLocation: NewsteadCategories: FinanceAbout the roleMater have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category & Contracts Manager to join our Group Finance team on a full-time, maximum term contract (12 months), based at Maters Newstead campus.In this influential role, youll play a key part in delivering value-driven procurement and contract management outcomes that support Maters Mission and strategic objectives, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers across a complex and diverse organisation.As the Category & Contracts Manager, you will lead strategic category and contract management activities to deliver value, mitigate risk and drive continuous improvement across Mater.Develop, own and execute category and contract strategies, initiatives and plans aligned to organisational prioritiesLead end-to-end procurement activities across a broad portfolio, ensuring compliance with Mater policies and relevant legislationNegotiate, establish and manage commercial contracts, ensuring value for money and strong supplier performanceProvide subject matter expertise on high-value and high-risk contracts, including contract formation and dispute resolutionBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, fostering a collaborative business partnering approachMonitor market trends and industry developments to inform strategic sourcing and innovationOversee procurement systems, reporting and data analysis across spend, performance, risk and pipelinesDeliver benefits realisation plans and report on outcomes, risks and opportunities across the category portfolioAbout youYou are a commercially astute procurement professional who thrives in a complex environment and enjoys building trusted partnerships to deliver meaningful outcomes.Extensive experience in procurement, category and contract management within a large, complex organisationStrong expertise in commercial negotiation, contract development and supplier managementProven ability to develop and implement strategic procurement and category initiativesDemonstrated experience managing complex supplier and stakeholder issues and resolving performance concernsStrong analytical capability, with experience using e-procurement systems and generating meaningful insights from dataWell-developed project management, change management and performance improvement skillsA relevant procurement or business qualification or certification (desirable)A commitment to Maters Mission, Values and behavioural standards, with a strong focus on collaboration, integrity and service excellenceMater is Queenslands largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
