Location: Woodford. 76 hour fortnight.As a Parks Crew Leader, youll take ownership of maintaining and enhancing green spaces on your designated run while leading a small team of 12 operational staff. This role blends hands-on horticultural work with essential administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective delivery of parks and open space maintenance services. Your leadership will directly influence the quality, safety and presentation of public open spaces across a variety of environments.Key ResponsibilitiesHorticultural and Operational Duties:Mowing and brush cuttingPlanting and mulchingPruning and weedingChemical application (as required)Operate and maintain relevant machinery and equipmentDrive a truck and trailer to and from work sitesEnsure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standardSupervise, guide and support team members in the fieldCoordinate daily operations and allocate tasksPromote safe work practices and compliance with organisational proceduresAdministrative and Digital Tasks:Use digital tools (tablets, computers, software) to:Create and update work ordersReview maintenance schedulesIdentify required resources, materials and equipmentContribute to accurate reporting and efficient workflowRequirementsMandatory Requirements:Current Medium Rigid (MR) class truck licence or aboveConstruction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain before starting)Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) certification (or willingness to obtain within six months of commencement)Desirable Qualifications:Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Landscape Construction or a related field.This qualification is not required at appointment but is necessary for progression within the Crew Leader Framework.Why City of Moreton Bay?Were the third-largest council in Australia and one of the fastest-growing areas.
