Municipal Worker - Multiskilled About The Role Reporting to the Works Supervisor, this is a varied position working across the municipality which will see the successful applicant assisting with the maintenance and construction of various Council infrastructure including but not limited to the road network, council buildings, parks and reserves and waste management. The primary tasks will be to: Assist in the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths and other civil infrastructure, including performing the safe operation of various plant and machinery as required Assist in asphalting operations as a hand asphalter (assisting Flocon operator) Carry out maintenance of councils parks and reserves as required including cleaning and upkeep of parks, reserves, streets, pipe work, landscaping and general land care tasks Carry out garbage collection and cleaning of council public facilities such as toilets and halls Maintain and perform minor servicing of designated plant equipment About You You will be a self-motivated team player who has a good work ethic and good time management. In addition, you will have good communication skills and a commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of those around you. To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have Previous experience operating various plant equipment, including backhoe, skid steer, roller, tractor/slasher Previous experience working as a Flocon offsider (hand asphalter) Previous experience with mowing and other parks and reserves maintenance tasks A current drivers licence Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing) to determine your physical fitness to perform the role. Terms and conditions of employment, including salary will be in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement. This role is classified as Municipal Worker Level 5, Grade A which is an hourly rate of $33.2026 per hour, which equates to an annual salary of $65,608.
