This is important applied research which helps to drive innovation, implement new services and improve service delivery for the organisation.Desirable attributes of the preferred applicant include an honours or higher postgraduate qualification and experience in research benchwork and scientific writing.The Forensic and Analytical Science Service (FASS) provides independent, objective analysis to law enforcement bodies including the police, local coroners and public prosecutors in areas such as Forensic Medicine, Forensic Biology/DNA, Forensic Toxicology, Drug Toxicology, Illicit Drugs, and more. It also provides analytical testing for NSW Health and local government bodies and supports public health needs. What You''ll Be DoingSupport the Laboratory in an ongoing program of research. This role will carry out applied research and validation activities which may include literature reviews, experimental design, sample preparation, sample processing, data analysis and interpretation, statistical analysis, report writing, oral presentations, ethics applications, journal publications and liaising with key stakeholders in academia and other organisations.
