VIDA Health (Victorian Health Building Authority) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government''s multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We''re delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VIDA Health also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines. The Opportunity As Director, Commercial (Strategic Procurement), you will lead VIDA Healths strategic procurement function across a multibillion-dollar health infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial & Legal, you will provide executive-level commercial and procurement advice, lead a high-performing team, and drive value-for-money outcomes through best-practice, probity-led procurement. Working closely with the VIDA Health Executive and senior stakeholders, you will shape procurement strategy, strengthen governance, and manage risk in a highly complex and high-profile environment. This role suits a senior procurement leader who thrives in ambiguity and is motivated by delivering outcomes of significant public value. Key aspects of the role Leading end-to-end strategic procurement across VIDA Healths capital program Providing executive advice on procurement strategy, commercial transactions, and contracting approaches Leading and developing a high-performing commercial and procurement team Driving value-for-money outcomes while ensuring legislative, policy, and probity compliance Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across government and industry Overseeing procurement planning, market analysis, risk assessment, tendering, negotiation, and contract award Anticipating and managing procurement and financial risks across a highly scrutinised portfolio We are looking for Extensive senior experience in procurement and commercial leadership on major infrastructure projects Demonstrated expertise in procurement strategy, tendering, negotiation, and major contract awards Strong knowledge of public-sector governance, legislative frameworks, and probity requirements Proven ability to influence at executive level and lead high-performing teams Strong strategic judgement, risk management capability, and communication skills To learn more about the opportunity and view the full requirements please download a copy of the Position Description.
