It is about owning standards, driving outcomes and building a performance system that consistently develops athletes and coaches capable of succeeding on the national stage.The opportunityAs Performance and Pathways Manager, you will lead Queensland''s Performance and Pathways ecosystem across the state, with responsibility for the delivery and oversight of the National Performance Program and all aligned high-performance and pathway initiatives. This includes U16, U18 and U20 North and South State Teams, the State Performance Program, and the Ivor Burge and Wheelchair High Performance programs.You will work closely with coaches, athletes, staff, volunteers and high-performance partners to deliver a system that is technically elite, operationally precise and uncompromising in its commitment to athlete wellbeing, safeguarding and child safety.Who we are looking forWe are looking for a leader who:Sets and enforces high standards and expects others to rise to themThrives in high-performance environments where accountability mattersIs administratively disciplined and understands that excellence off the court enables excellence on itPlaces child safety, safeguarding and ethical leadership at the centre of decision-makingBuilds strong, respectful relationships and is comfortable having difficult conversationsBalances strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and operational oversightRemains calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressureYou will take genuine ownership of outcomes and lead with clarity, integrity and intent.Key responsibilitiesLead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Basketball Queensland''s Performance and Pathways ecosystemDeliver the National Performance Program, including the development and quarterly review of Individual Performance Plans for identified athletesDevelop and implement the Queensland style of play across all performance streamsPlan and deliver State Performance Programs across Queensland, ensuring alignment with best practice and national standardsEnsure athletes and coaches receive clear, consistent and meaningful development feedback before and after programsLead the selection, development and performance management of State and Development Team coaches and managersLead and refine athlete selection processes for all Queensland teams competing at the Australian Junior ChampionshipsMaintain and review statewide player and coach depth charts, monitored quarterlyConduct post-campaign and post-Nationals reviews to drive continuous improvementCollaborate with the Queensland Academy of Sport, Basketball Australia, Centres of Excellence and other high-performance partnersWork closely with internal operational teams to ensure administration, logistics and planning support an elite high-performance environmentEnsure all programs operate in strict alignment with Basketball Queensland''s child safety, safeguarding, risk management and integrity frameworksContribute to operational budgets, business planning and performance reportingWhat you bringMinimum 7 years experience in high-performance player and coach development within basketball or a comparable elite sport environmentCurrent Performance Level Coaching Accreditation, or willingness to progress through the accreditation pathwayDemonstrated ability to coach, lead and develop athletes and coaches at a high levelExceptional organisational, administrative and time-management capabilityStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levelsA values-driven leadership approach with a deep commitment to child safety and athlete wellbeingConfidence using data, systems and reporting to inform decisions and drive improvementEligibility to hold and maintain a Blue CardCurrent driver licence and capacity to travel as requiredWhy Basketball QueenslandBasketball Queensland offers a values-led, high-performance environment where integrity, professionalism and safeguarding are non-negotiable.
