Status: Full time, permanent ongoing role with considerations to working hours. Remuneration: above award remuneration and salary packaging with a 9 day fortnight. Flexible working arrangements may be available.About the RoleThis organisation offers an above award salary, along with a 9 day fortnight. The team is open to parents seeking flexible working arrangements and understands that not every day is a 95 day.As the Housing Officer, you will manage a portfolio of properties and be the primary point of contact for tenants, ensuring they receive high-quality, respectful and responsive tenancy services. You will work closely with tenants, support partners and community organisations to help people sustain their housing and improve long-term wellbeing. This is a hands-on, varied role that includes managing tenancy applications, sign-ups, inspections, rent arrears, complaints and disputes. You will also coordinate repairs and maintenance, manage vacancies and represent Metro at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal when required. Accurate record keeping, strong communication skills and an ability to work within legal and policy frameworks with a person-centred approach are essential.Full time with some flexibility considered e.g. 5 days across school hours.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide end-to-end tenancy management, from application through to exit.Support tenants to sustain their housing through referrals and collaborative case coordination.Manage arrears, tenancy disputes, behavioural issues and tribunal matters.Conduct property inspections, home visits and oversee repairs and maintenance.Maintain accurate records across HOMES, CHIMES, SDM and internal systems.Source and manage leasehold properties and rent reviews in line with policy.Ensure compliance with tenancy legislation, funding requirements and Metro''s policies.Contribute to reporting, WHS obligations and continuous improvement initiatives.About YouYou are values-driven, empathetic and confident working with people from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with complex needs. You are someone with experience in community housing or social housing as a preference, or someone with experience in human support services with a desire to move into Community Housing. You bring strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
