About these roles ROLE 1 Registry Officer (Civil team) The Registry Officer provides a range of administrative services to support the Tribunal in meeting its statutory obligations relating to the schedule and conduct of hearings. The role provides information to external stakeholders regarding the Tribunal''s procedures and operations and the rights and responsibilities of parties to a hearing to ensure they are informed and to enhance the effectiveness of the Tribunal. The area is busy, with competing priorities and critical deadlines. You''re expected to work flexibly and adaptively to meet the changes to the daily duties and urgent matters. ROLE 2 Administrative Officer (Forensic team) Provide administrative, customer and office services to maintain high quality administrative support and contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Forensic Division of the Tribunal. Assist with the preparation of forensic hearings to ensure patient files, exhibit lists are prepared accurately and efficiently. The position holder must be able to work cooperatively and independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Where you''ll be working The Mental Health Review Tribunal is a specialist quasi-judicial body constituted under the Mental Health Act 2007. It has a wide range of powers that enable it to conduct mental health inquiries, make and review orders, and to hear some appeals, about the treatment and care of people living with a mental illness. The Tribunal is based on the grounds of the old Gladesville Hospital at Gladesville and are moving to new premises at 580 George Street, Sydney at the end of March (unless delayed). Further information about the Mental Health Review Tribunal can be found at: www.mhrt.nsw.gov.au What you''ll be doing In these roles you will: - Provide hearing support to panels sitting in the Tribunal''s hearing rooms and travelling to other venues. - Deliver a wide range of administrative support functions including, records management, document compilation and distribution. - Provide data entry and administrative support in relation to Tribunal patient files to ensure accurate record-keeping of the civil or forensic review process following records management guidelines, policy and procedures. - Preparation of civil & forensic hearings to ensure that patient files, exhibit lists and documentation submitted for a hearing are prepared accurately and efficiently.
