We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 385,000 residents.The RoleThe Team Leader plays a key role in overseeing and coordinating administrative functions to support the Community & Cultural Services Unit. This position leads a team of Support Service Officers and Project Officers, fostering collaboration across the Unit to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Team Leader is responsible for managing Unit-wide communications, including correspondence, supporting data driven decision making, and internal updates, ensuring efficient and effective support is delivered across all areas of the Unit.Duties will include but not be limited to:Lead and direct a team of Administration Support Officers and Projects Officers who support the Community & Cultural Services Unit across multiple locationsDevelop and maintain effective administrative and project support through administration assistance to facilitate the achievement of work output targets for the Community & Cultural Services UnitCoordinate the ongoing output of the Administration Support Officers and Project Officers, as well as managing performance and ensuring ongoing motivation and continuous improvementProvide support to the Manager Community & Cultural Services and Executive Assistant to the Director Community Services as requiredMonitor team expenditure to ensure budget is on targetDeveloping the required relationships across the Council and influencing stakeholders to successfully deliver agreed outcomesDisplay continuous business improvement skills by identifying any opportunities for operational efficienciesFor a full list of duties, review the position description.You will haveDiploma in Business Management or equivalentWorking with Children CheckClass C Drivers LicenceExperience in leading and motivating a team, including coaching, developing and guiding staffExcellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with complex issues and communicate with tact and diplomacyDemonstrated professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication, including listening and comprehension skillsHigh level of computer literacy across a range of devices and programs including experience in an automated public library access technologyDemonstrated experience in working with a diverse multicultural client baseAbility to maintain strict confidentiality at all timesSalary range for this opportunity starts at $93,583 (Grade G, Step1) + 12% super.
