As a multi-disciplinary centre, Sydney ID is the home for infectious diseases research and advocacy. Our Institute is committed to research and knowledge exchange that will improve understanding of the complex interactions that fuel the emergence and spread of infectious diseases, regionally and globally. Expertise within the institute spans across several areas including pathogen evolution, antimicrobial resistance and novel therapies, Tuberculosis, One Health, HIV and STIs, vaccine development, immunisation, epidemiology, surveillance and outbreak response, social and behavioural science, and health literacy. Our researchers strive to mitigate the health and socioeconomic impacts of infectious diseases by generating innovative insights and practical solutions. Sydney ID supports research across the translational and disciplinary spectrum.About the opportunityThe Centres and Institutes portfolio is seeking an experienced leader to take on the Research Partnerships Manager role. Based within Sydney ID you will lead the execution of key partnership and engagement initiatives for the institute, translating strategic objectives into tangible partnerships and activities. The role involves building strong relationships with our stakeholders including academic, industry, government, health, funding bodies, and non-government organisations to expand the institutes reach, brand presence and impact. Working with the Director you will formulate stakeholder engagement strategies to foster a culture of productive multidisciplinary collaboration.Primarily based at the Westmead campus this role requires a flexible working arrangement to work across Westmead and Camperdown campuses.Your key responsibilities will be to:Lead the execution of key engagement initiatives, translating strategic objectives into impactful activities that enhance external partnerships and brand presence.Provide strategic insights and oversee the delivery of the designated external engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with work area and University objectives.Drive innovative engagement methods that strengthen collaboration and long-term partnerships.Oversee operational aspects of engagement, including resource management, reporting, and legislative compliance to meet University standards.Formulate stakeholder engagement strategies to align expectations, enhance service satisfaction, and foster cross-functional collaboration.About youPostgraduate qualifications in infectious diseases or related sciencesYou bring strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities, with excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills.You demonstrate the ability to influence, negotiate, and build productive relationships.You have a track record of negotiating and managing partnership agreements and creating tools and initiatives that drive engagement outcomes.You bring experience delivering events and engagement programs, ideally within the higher education sector, to effectively reach and connect with target audiences.Sponsorship / work rights forAustraliaYou must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
