We are seeking a talented and highly motivated candidate with proven grid connection experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills with AEMO/NSP, and a solid technical understanding of the NER rules.Provide technical support to the Development and Construction Teams for various renewable energy sites including:Preliminary analysis of grid data to assess connection locations.Identification of grid opportunities within the National Electricity Market.Liaison with AEMO, Network Service Providers, technical consultants, and in-house engineering design team throughout the grid connection process.Manage PSSE and PSCAD models and grid connection studies.Assist the asset management team with technical grid connection issues including registration support, loss factor analysis, and assessment of market rule change impacts.Provide design inputs to grid connection, substation, and collector network aspects of projects.Liaise with business development managers, projects directors, operation manager, and other key internal stakeholders to develop projects on schedule and within budget.Support in the preparation of technical tender documentation (grid connection aspects) for the assignment of construction contracts and suppliers.Support the review of power systems studies, including grid connection, system strength impact assessments and research and development.Liaise with technical team and provide insights on undertaking EMT and RMS based simulations using PSCAD, PSSE and DigSILENT-PowerFactory.Support Business Development activities including preparation of tenders, providing input to financial models, and travel to attend meetings and conferences as required.Assisting with the provision of written material and presentations regarding technical issues for inclusion in board papers, workshops, investment memorandums, and permitting documents if required.Continually learn new technical skills and keep up to date with market and industry technology, to deliver the responsibilities of the role.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEMinimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, with verifiable participation in the preparation of R0, R1 packages for utility scale wind, solar and storage projects. Additional experience in aspects related to commissioning, hold point testing and R2 phases will be highly valued.Strong understanding of the National Electricity Market and the transmission system that underpins its operations.Experience in the connection of projects to the NEM through the AEMO registration process.Capability to assess changes and identify opportunities within the NEM.Strong understanding of the regulatory framework imposed by the NER.Experience in connection application, generator registration, and negotiation of generator performance standards.Experience in commissioning generating assets including Hold Point testing.Prior grid connection engineering experience on the NEM (wind farm, solar and storage registration will be highly valued).Generator and power systems modelling experience wind farm modelling is highly valued with PSSE and/or PSCAD and/or Power Factory.Experience using PSS/E and/or PSCAD and/or Power Factory simulation tools.Solid understanding of the generator connection process in the National Electricity Market.Ability to communicate technical knowledge in plain English to internal and external stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
