About The RoleAs a Groundsman at The Westport Club, you will be part of a great team who maintain this bowling club to an exceptional standard. This hands-on role will see you upkeeping the greens and surrounding landscaped areas to a level that exceeds the clients'' expectations. Working a base of 20 hours per week, during summer the hours will increase up to 38 per week.ResponsibilitiesPerform mowing, trimming, edging, aeration, and other green space management practices to maintain quality of bowling greens.Maintain landscaped surrounds, ensuring high aesthetic and functional standards.Monitor and control turf health including pest, weed, and disease management practices in line with environmental guidelines.Operate and maintain all relevant machinery and equipment safely and undertake minor repairs and servicing as required.Assist with irrigation scheduling, water usage monitoring, and related audits.Support weekend and event-day preparation and maintenance activities as required.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and chemical use.Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.Participate in regular team meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.BenefitsReceive compensation in line with your skills and experienceEnjoy a supplied uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE)Engage in social events fostering team camaraderieThrive in a supportive management team and fantastic company cultureAbout YouYou are an experienced groundsman looking for a new challenge or perhaps you want to transition to part time work and have time to pursue other hobbies and interests during the winter months - if you''ve worked on bowling greens before this experience will be highly regarded. You have a white card, current driver''s license, and you''re willing to obtain a working with children check. You take tremendous pride in your ability to safely and efficiently operate all the machinery and equipment used to maintain a bowling green and surrounding areas. Reliable, punctual and with a great can-do attitude, you are a self-motivated person who thrives on maintaining high standards of work.
