HeaderCareer development opportunitiesCompetitive rewards and benefitsFlexible working options Your Role About the roleAs a Systems Safety Engineer at Babcock, you will apply an integrative systems safety approach to identify hazards and mitigate risks across the full engineering product lifecycle.Using systems engineering principles and safety engineering techniques, you will support the safe design, operation, support and retirement of complex engineered systems.Working largely independently with occasional guidance on complex matters, you will plan and deliver technical tasks to agreed time, cost and quality, while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations and internal governance.Along the way, you''ll mentor others, build your leadership capability and actively share knowledge to strengthen Babcock''s technical community.About youYou are an experienced systems safety professional with a solid grounding in systems engineering principles and a structured approach to hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control.Comfortable applying safety engineering techniques across the lifecycle and producing clear, compliant technical documentation that supports safe and effective system outcomes.Your sound judgement enables confident single-discipline engineering decisions while maintaining a strong focus on product safety and regulatory compliance.you will have high standards of integrity, safety and professionalism underpin all work, alongside a drive to deliver innovative, practical solutions that meet customer expectations.To be successful in this position you will bring:Approximately 5 years relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.An excellent understanding of applicable engineering toolsetsExperience in the use of requirements management software such as DOORSExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience in programming languages such as DXL, Python or similar.Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
