Job Description The School of Applied Psychologyis offering an exciting opportunity for passionate and driven HDR Student Teaching Fellows to join our academic team.Based at either the Gold Coast or Nathan campus, the HDR Student Teaching Fellow role will play a key role in contributing to the teaching efforts of Psychology and Counsellingparticularly at undergraduate level and to carry out activities to develop their skills as a teacher in higher education settings. An HDR Student Teaching Fellow will work with the support of an academic supervisor and will work during their period of employment to develop an increased degree of autonomy as capabilities allow.This role is at Associate Lecturer (Level A) and is an integrated paid work experience opportunity for Griffith HDR students to work as a Teaching Fellow. Consequently, they will be expected to participate in professional development with the aim of seeking recognition of their experience and skills through the Advance HE Professional Standards Framework.On campus, face-to-face teaching is required and the work patterns for the part-time position is expected to reflect the teaching requirements of the role.Key responsibilities include but not limited to:Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching at the undergraduate level facilitating high quality, student-centred learning activities.Support high quality learning and teaching outcomes for students evidenced by technology enhanced learning, problem oriented, authentic learning and assessment practices.Support a student-centred service culture and establishment of positive, respectful and supportive relationships between staff and students.Where appropriate promote and enhance student learning experiences through seeking opportunities to strengthen Griffith''s research / teaching nexus.Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.Where appropriate to support personal professional development act as course convenor at the undergraduate level, with support and direction from more senior staff.These are fixed-term (up to two-years, contracts will not extend beyond the doctoral study period), 20% part-time positions and will be based at either the Griffith University Gold Coast or Brisbane South (Nathan).As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.Griffith University''s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.Salary RangeThe full-time equivalent base salary for an Associate Lecturer (Level A) in the range $79,984 - $107,561 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $93,581 - $125,846 per annum pro rata. Qualifications The successful candidate will be currently enrolled in a Griffith HDR program post confirmation and have at least two trimesters of prior teaching experience.You will also have:Demonstrated ability to teach in across Counsellingand/or Psychologyand engage with undergraduate students effectively, including developing teaching materials and delivering lectures and tutorials.Proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience of students.Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance teaching duties with research and other academic commitments.Demonstrated commitment to student learning and providing academic guidance and mentorship to students.Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and other educational technologies to support student learning.A commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching practices and engagement in teaching-related training.
