Doctor VFL/VFLWPort Melbourne Football Club is looking for a VFL/VFLW Doctor who will be responsible for overseeing the health and wellbeing of VFL and VFLW players. The role ensures safe and effective return to play following injury and provides expert medical care across all aspects of performance and health.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake player injury consultations including assessment, diagnosis, intervention or referral; report findings to senior coach and head of high performance.Integrate medical expertise with other health care providers, including specialists, highperformance staff and allied health professionals.Make medical decisions that affect player safe participation within the team structure.Determine when a player is ready to begin a fitness program, join the team or return to play after injury or illness.Organise appointments for medical imaging, specialist opinions and other investigations; deliver reports on outcomes.Attend and conduct meetings with all associated staff to monitor player health and fitness; prepare reports with medical and conditioning staff.Monitor rehabilitation programs devised by highperformance staff and allied health professionals.Maintain proper documentation and medical records; keep the club''s injury management system up to date per club and AFL requirements.Oversee assessment, diagnosis and treatment of player health and injury management.Advise on injury prognosis, performance impact and collaborate on rehabilitation plans.Collaborate with AFL Medical staff to optimise player health and performance outcomes.Experience, Skills and AttributesMedical degree essential with postgraduate experience in managing sports injuries within elite teams.Indepth knowledge of Sport and Exercise Medicine.Appropriate medical and general liability insurance.Current AHPRA registration.Experience in an elite sporting environment, ideally AFL.Working knowledge of AFL Policies and Procedures (e.g., Concussion Management Guidelines).National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one.Current driver''s licence.Ability to build relationships with VFL/VFLW players.Strong communication skills regarding player availability, injuries and rehabilitation planning.Thorough understanding of sports culture.Sound judgment and independence.Team skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.Exceptional organisational and planning skills.Essential RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualification.Sports Medicine/Physio/Allied Health degree.To apply, submit your resume and relevant supporting documents through the Port Melbourne Football Club career portal. #J-18808-Ljbffr
