You will also assist the Rail Safety Manager, Rail Safety Director and other internal stakeholders to identify, assess, evaluate and control rail safety risk. This role will be based full time at our Orchard Hills Office or Elizabeth Drive Office and along the alignment as required (StMarys to Bradfield). Responsibilities Manages compliance obligations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, National Rail Safety Legislation and associated legislative requirements. Provides direction, instruction and assistance to all project personnel on a functional basis in relation to best practice, process and procedure. Stops the progress of work where risks may be present. Develops and maintains the WHS Management Plan and Safety and supports the rail safety assurance management team with the Rail Safety Manager providing assurance for compliance with OSH, WHS and Rail Safety legislation. Monitors compliance with the rail safety and health and safety management systems. Ensures supervisory personnel are trained in their rail safety requirements and ensures consultation arrangements have been established with employees. Leads investigations for all extreme risk incidents, injuries and hazards and provides functional assistance and recommendations for the development of appropriate preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence. Develops and cultivates relationships with clients ensuring compliance with both client and company requirements. Oversees the development of rail safety hazard identification plans, risk analysis, corporate and sitespecific safety plans. Assists with the collection, preparation, analysis and issuance of company rail safety statistics and performance data and implements strategies to achieve continual improvement. Criteria Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, WHS, Environmental Health or a related field. Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, Coordinator or Rail Safety Officer in the construction industry, preferably within a Tier1 Contractor organisation. Minimum 2+ years working on a rail project. Thorough knowledge of relevant rail safety and health & safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice. Strong understanding of construction processes, rail safety, hazards and risk assessment methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. What''s next?
