The role is based in Sydney with the Nasdaq Market Surveillance team.This is a permanent full-time role based in **Sydney, Australia** following a **hybrid work model setup** (at least 2 in office days per week).You can expect an autonomous but fast-paced work environment where you are recognized for your results and ability to drive things forward. Every day brings many opportunities to learn & grow and rewards with a global impact we create.In return, you will receive a competitive salary package, incredible private health insurance, employee stock purchase plan, a global mentoring program, counseling through our Employee Assistance Program and more.## What You Will Do* Lead the **design, development, troubleshooting, and implementation** of Javabased solutions for Nasdaq Market Surveillance platforms* Act as a **technical leader** within the team, driving architectural decisions and ensuring highquality, scalable, and maintainable solutions* Review and translate **business requirements and system requirements** into technical designs and implementations* Participate in and lead **technical design discussions**, functional specification reviews, code reviews, and estimation activities* Proactively identify risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt, and drive resolution through welldefined technical solutions* Author and review **technical specifications, design documents, and implementation plans*** Provide handson development support for **complex and highimpact initiatives*** Mentor and coach engineers, promoting best practices, improving team efficiency, and encouraging adoption of modern engineering approaches* Contribute to broader **IT and systems strategy**, including platform evolution, integrations, and clientfacing solutions where applicable## What We Expect* Bachelors degree in **Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field**, or equivalent practical experience* **8+ years of professional software engineering experience**, with strong handson expertise in **Java*** Proven experience operating in a **lead or senior technical role**, influencing design and guiding other engineers* Solid understanding of **enterprisescale systems**, distributed architectures, and performancecritical applications* Experience working in **financial services or capital markets** is highly preferred, but not required* Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) is a plus* Strong problemsolving skills, business acumen, and ability to work effectively with crossfunctional stakeholders* Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, technical excellence, and professional development*Please follow through by clicking the Apply link and submitting your application.
