Position Overview Staff Specialist Clinician - NeurosurgeryRemuneration Package: $249,959 - $305,454 (including salary $213,380 - $261,100)Locations: Darwin, Palmerston Northern TerritoryContract: 3 years fixed, one full time vacancy Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to the Territorys leading team of Neurosurgeons at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital. Lead and direct the Department of Neurosurgery, including human resource management, supervision of medical staff, and departmental performance. Participate as a member of the senior management team supporting divisional clinical governance, operations and strategic programmes. Manage patient flow and demand management strategies, safety and quality, clinical audit and review, staff mentoring and training and promote a culture of highperforming teams. Foster partnerships between healthcare providers and lead continuous quality improvement activities to enhance multidisciplinary care and contribute to NT Health clinical leadership. Maximise clinical activity throughput in Operating Theatres, Outpatients and Outreach. Qualifications Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Current Fellowship of a relevant Medical College. Demonstrated professional leadership in the provision of Neurosurgery services. Track record in the pursuit of clinical excellence. Effective leadership, interpersonal communication and relationship building skills. Commitment to ensuring equity of access to quality health care and participation in continuing education, teaching and research.
